A few thoughts on some of my favorite actors, actresses, and their movies. They're stars in my eyes!

I have always loved movies...ever since I was a small child. I grew up watching some of the pioneers of the movie industry. Those we consider to be the "classic" actors and actresses.. There was always the Clark Gable movies, Spencer Tracy, Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, and so many others.

As movies grew, so did I, and have also grown to love so many of the new actors and actress. I have enjoyed the movies of George Lucas, Ron Howard, Mel Gibson, Stephen Speilberg. We, without a doubt have been blessed with some very talented writers, directors and actors, that have entertained us for years, and hopefully for years to come.

But, I, like so many others, I'm sure, have their favorites. It would be impossible to share them all, but I want to share at least some with you. Maybe they're some of your favorites too.

Richard Burton has long been one of my favorites. It would be hard to say which of his movies is my favorite, or which one cause me to "fall in love" with him as an actor. But there isn't enough to be said about the quality of actor that he was, both on stage and screen.
Camelot, was probably one of my favorites of the Burton movies.

Another favorite Burton film was Becket. What a fabulous movie. I was doubley entertained with this movie, as it also started another of my favortie actors.... Peter O'Toole.

Such flair he had!

What can be said about Lawrence of Arabia. Probably his most spectacular movie ever! And who in the world could resist those beautiful blue eyes

Mel Gibson
It's hard to say which of his movies drug me in, and put it clutches on me, when it came to this man. Just an all around fabulous actor, and director.
He had us laughin' our butts off in all the Lethal Weapons.

We wept with him as he held his dying sons in "The Patriot"....

....and our hearts sank as we watched William Wallace sacrifice all for the sake of "Freeeeeeedom!"

He touched our very souls, as we witnessed the crucifixtion of our Lord.

Yul Brynner
I have loved Yul Brenner since I was a young girl, and first saw him as Rameses in The Ten Commandments.

I am a big fan of musicals also, and loved him in his performance of The King and I, along with all of it's fabulous music.

I've always like Kevin Costner, but became a huge fan of
his after seening him portray John Dunbar, in Dances With Wolves.

You can NEVER go wrong with a good Robin Hood story. I absolutely love Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

I guess, when it really comes down to the nitty gritty, this man has got to be my absolute favorite! There hasn't been one movie I've seen, with him in it, that I didn't love!
Sean Connery...is "the" main man
Bond....Jame Bond
There will never be another like Connery, when it comes to 007! He made James Bond what he was....

A simply wonderful actor of both stage and screen

I was never a big Roger Moore fan, although I would watch him, simply because it was "Bond"
If there was anyone that could half way come close to pulling off James Bond, it would have to be Pierce Brosnan. I love his portrayal of 007, but he, nor anyone, will every be able to replace Sean Connery. He IS Bond!

Tom Hanks

Another wonderful talent given us by Hollywood. He is such a fabulous actor, and director.

How will we ever be able to forget "Saving Private Ryan"?
And forever will we remember the words...
"Run Forest, run!"

The emotion that he gave us in "Philidelphia", will never be surpassed.

Moses.... a.k.a. Charlton Heston
I've loved this man as an actor, since I was a child, and have been facinated with him every since I saw him portray probably, his most famous of characters, Moses.

I loved all the "Plant of the Ape" movies...but naturally, the first was my favorite.

Ben-Hur, along with The Ten Commandments, is probably two of his most well know roles.

No list would be complete, without "The Duke". He was another, that I've watch since I was a small girl.

Here, is my most favorite John Wayne character ever! Rooster Cogburn. You couldn't help but love the ole coot...lol Watching him in this movie with the wonderfully talented Katharine Hepburn, makes it a classic all in itself. These two bring acting together like a marriage, and make it, without a doubt, some of the funniest scenes you'll ever see in a movie.

Katharine Hepburn.... one of the true rare beauties and talents of Hollywood.

African Queen, Rooster Cogburn, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, The Lion In Winter, On Golden Pond, movies that will forever stay in our hearts as some of her best.

Another lady of class....
Audrey Hepburn

Roman Holiday, Robin and Marian, Breakfast At Tiffanys, Wait Until Dark, and my favorite....
her portrayal of
Miss Eliza Doolittle
My Fair Lady

Another one of my favorite actors in Richard Harris. I first fell in love with his acting after seening my favorite of his movies, A Man Called Horse. I naturally, loved him in both of the sequels to this movie, Return of a Man Called Horse, and Triumphs of a Man Called Horse. If you are a lover of westerns, and Native American films, this is a must see, if you haven't seen it yet. It is a wonderful portrayal of the Sioux Nation, and a wonderful love story also.

His performance in Camelot, with Vanessa Redgrave was a fabulous work. And the again Harris played a wonderful role in the new Harry Potter series. When the world lost this man in 2002, we lost one of the greats of stage and screen.

What can be said about Robin Williams. What a fabulous actor and comedian. He will have you rolling in hysterics one minute, and bring you to tears in the next. A rare and wonderful talent that surpasses so many.

I've love Robin Williams in everything that I've ever seen him in, but one of my favorites, without a doubt was Mrs. Doubtfire. What a marvelous job of acting he did in this movie, and as I mentioned would have me rolling in laughter one second, and have me in tears the next scene. He has graced us with many fabulous movies, and I'm sure will give us many more in the years to come.

I do hope that you'll come back often to my Movie Favorites and see what new and talented people have been added. I hope I have chosen some of your favorites, as well.
